EASY AND FUN BLUES LICKS AND THANK YOU!

Hey there – David Taub here from Next Level Guitar. Tim and I want to thank you all for the massive response we received last week from your emails with your thoughts, insights, and feedback. All I can say is...WOW! – you guys and gals rock!

We really appreciate all the kind words that you stated in your emails and we are so happy that we can be of help in your guitar journeys. The emails were so amazing, so positive, and just oozing with passion about music and guitar – it is awesome reading them and we truly thank you.

The topics you want to learn more about are very broad in scope so we will try and hit the ones that got the most mentions and work back from there. Some of the top topics you want more info on include easy blues licks, songwriting info, finger picking info, easy progressions, strumming help, music theory, effects info, lead playing, bar chord assistance, the dreaded “F” chord help, and many more. So we started up the cameras and started filming on these topics. At times these email articles will contain video links or written articles to further answer your questions.

Man did we get a ton of emails asking for more blues licks! You asked for it……YOU GOT IT!

We posted a whole series of six easy blues guitar licks on youtube. We also posted a jam track and lesson that you can use as a tool while practicing and with all the licks in this six part series. These are easy, fun, and fast licks that you will be tearing up in no time. Check them all out here:

Use the jam track when practicing these licks and try to connect some of the licks together musically. Take your time and pull each lick apart and vary them a little each time you go back to them. Remember, like I stressed in the videos, just don’t learn licks…..learn FROM the lick! You can do it! And don’t neglect your rhythm playing. Practice the rhythm and chords in the jam track and play along with the rhythm. Solid rhythm and timing skills are absolutely essential for every guitarist – remember you only play the lead for a small section of each song – so your lead playing skills are only ever as good as you rhythm playing skills.

Have fun with these – best of luck in your guitar journeys – and rock on!

David Taub
